Dillon Eustace has been involved in successfully defending many of Ireland’s most notable defamation actions in recent years.  Just as importantly, we have a well established reputation for working on behalf of our clients to economically diffuse threats of expensive libel actions, whenever circumstances allow.

One of the particular strengths of our Media and Defamation team is its astute and practical pre-publication advice which is available to our clients on a 24/7 basis. 

We advise clients on contempt of court, intellectual property, privacy and data-protection issues, as well as issues that may arise in relation to the operation of websites.  We also advise in relation to the effects that anticipated legislation, such as Ireland’s new Defamation Bill, are likely to have on our clients’ operations.

We assist clients in dealing with complaints which have been made against them to the Press Ombudsman or appealed to the Press Council.
