Employment

The Employment team advises domestic and international clients on all issues whether contentious or non-contentious issues arising from the employment relationship, employment contracts and employee handbooks and termination issues.  We work closely with clients on day-to-day issues as they arise as well as assisting in relation to employment policies (such as email, internet, sick pay, bullying/harassment).

We advise in relation to strategic issues arising in mergers and acquisitions (such as Transfer of Undertakings Regulations and redundancies) and industrial relations.

The team, in conjunction with our colleagues in other departments, also advises in relation to pensions (including PRSAs) and taxation issues, restrictive covenants, injunctions, anti-discrimination, data protection and other employment related issues.

In the event of disputes, the team advises in relation to disciplinary procedures and in respect of the various forms of dispute resolution, as appropriate, including proceedings before the Courts, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Labour Court, Rights Commissioners and the Equality Tribunal.  The team provides access to alternative methods of dispute resolution including mediation.
