NAME:  Sean Murray 

TITLE:  Tax Partner

EDUCATION:  Dublin City University, the Irish Taxation Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

PROFILE:  Sean joined Dillon Eustace in 2004 and became a partner in 2007.  Sean previously worked as a tax manager in the financial services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has advised on various aspects of financial services from a tax perspective including investment management, structured finance, real estate, banking, leasing and private equity. He is a member of the tax committees of both the Irish Funds Industry Association and the Irish Securitization Forum.

REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS: 

  • Advises on numerous investment fund (UCITS and Non-UCITS) set-ups including Common Contractual Funds, Fund of Funds, Master/Feeder Fund structures for simultaneous sale to U.S. and non-U.S. investors as well as numerous Fund/SPV structures  for the purposes of investing tax efficiently by gaining access to Ireland’s double tax treaty network.
  • Advises on onshore/offshore fund reconstruction and amalgamations including the first re-domiciliation of an investment trust from the Cayman Islands to Ireland where upon migration the investment trust was authorised as a QIF by the Central Bank pursuant to the Unit Trusts Act, 1990.
  • Advising one of Europe's leading listed commercial property company’s in respect of a €1 Billion Facility.
  • Advises a leading Russian bank in a variety transactions including, secured lending facilities, RMBS transaction, and a synthetic loan transaction.
  • Advising on the establishment of a secured obligation programme.
  • Advising an aircraft leasing company in connection with the acquisition and financing of a number of aircraft.
